Firecracker

Zoe must hold a lot of weight on her shoulders.
She never lets on that she is burdened.
But it's there.
She has melancholy days.
Days that the sun doesn't seem to want to shine for her.
She's so tired.
Physically and emotionally.
We are almost to the end of this doom that has held her captive for over 2 years.
I hope that the days after the conclusion of the ingestion of poisons and the injections of poisons that she will be lighter.
Lighter in her views of the world.
Lighter in her views of herself.
Lighter and smiling more.
Until then she always has her best friend to lean on.
Her cat Firecracker.
He always has a purr for her.
He's the only cat that we have that sleeps with her.
He comes running to her and cuddles with her and he is the sunshine she needs.

What greater gift than the love of a cat?
~Charles Dickens
